Thank you to all the residents that participated in our first Cycle Sunday, we enjoyed warm sunshine and a great turnout! The consensus was that this can definitely be a monthly event. It was great to see children, young and old riding bicycles and skateboards in our streets with neighbors chatting on the pavement.
It worked well on Bothma Road, with very little through traffic, and very understanding residents from Bothma Road that did need to get in and out, cautiously, because the children owned the road for just three hours. A big thank you to Top Security for being on hand and to CIB insurance for the water bottles for the children.
Please diarise the next Cycle Sunday on the 28 August 2011 2pm - 5pm. For this one we're going to add something to the mix and have a street braai which everyone is welcome to attend. We're going to call on our kind neighbors in Bothma road to provide some fires and if everyone can bring your own meat, drinks and some charcoal or fire lighters for the braais. Don't forget your water bottles that can be topped up or get one if you weren't able to join us on Sunday.
